When you paint a portrait, it gives you the opportunity to accent the positive and down play the negative. He has a very gentle face.

I love the design aspect of this piece and the fact that you played up the elongation of his neck; it's something you see in Modigliani's art. But, afterall, that's what we're all trying to achieve when we paint...our perspective and vision. So, that I love. The only problem I have with it is that his eyes (gaze) is so close to the edge of the paper I kind of follow his gaze and move on. He could have used some breathing room.
