I often go to the US Geological Survey's website to check on the world's earthquakes. http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recentequs/ After visiting the website today I painted a seismic event. The diagonal line lower left of center is the fault along which the earthquake occured. The rubble along the fault line is fault breccia.

The banded area represents a cross section of the earth below the buildings.

Thank you pearl. While living near Tokyo for four years. we taught our daughter to run outside during quakes. One Big quake she hid in the closet and we were frantic searching for her.

Tom, Is the painting you did expressing your Buddhism still posted? I'd like to see it.
This one reminds me of earthquakes I've been in in CA, without the fire. I like it. You know you can get emails every time there is an earthquake with all the details. I get them whenever there is a quake of 5 or over.
Blessings,
Michelle (intcede)

As usual your paintings have a very graphic quality with tons of imagination. All the blacks and the reds are frightening.

Thank you Priti, Glad you like my art. I do paint much of my art from my mind. I have been in some real shaky quakes in Japan.
