A friend of mine lost two roosters and had me paint them from a photo. So, this is an experiment in watercolor and ink - my first time mixing the two mediums.

Greetings Priti, I like your roosters. I think watercolor and ink is a very enjoyable way to paint. I stumbled into it one day quite by chance. Now I'm addicted to it. |

| I think the ink gives a whole new feeling to watercolors. This is nice, your friend must be happy to have it. |

Thanks Tom, Pearl and Grace.
Tom, i enjoyed watercolor and ink, but sometimes it feels like cheating, just draw and ink and add watercolors within the lines.
Pearl, i used just regular 140 lbs. coldpress watercolor paper.
Grace, this is the first time i used ink with my watercolors and it does have a "lighter" feeling than my other work. It seems too easy, but the end result is nice.
I just got an email from my friend saying that she loves it. |

Greetings Priti, I think posting ink and watercolor on Mixed Media would be a mistake. You'll get more comments on Watercolor. |

| I like the fact that you didn't "fill in" every space. This has a nice balance of lines and color fill. Also, I like the mixture of warm and cool colors. Good job! |

| I love how the lines of the ink create a lively energy. |

Greetings Priti, About ink and watercolor: When I first started using ink with watercolor about two years ago I was using a fine line such as you, then I saw the ink and watercolor paintings of David Peterson, www.aquarellist.com. He uses a heavier ink line from a Sharpie © felt tip pen. I switched to a Sharpie pen and love the effect of the broader line. You might like to try it. It makes plein air painting so much faster and fun. |
