I did this for our Christmas card.. It's the oldest Methodist church building in Pennsylvania. (1791) I spattered opaque white to create the snowfall.

Hi Dale,
This is a really nice painting. Suggestions/questions: Do you really want a graveyard on your Christmas card? and unless one knows this particular spot, it's hard to tell it's a church. But it is a very well done painting.

Kathy, I was concerned about the grave stones too, but decided to include them because of their historic nature. The church is over 200 years old and some of the graves are of revolutionary war soldiers. Although it doesn't look like a church, it is a landmark here, and the folks who will receive it will understand. Thanks for your comments Dale

Dale,
Beautiful colors and I did not notice the gravestones until it was pointed out.  Your work is wonderful.  What kind of paints and paper do you use?

Very nice, i like the sky. I would also like to know the paper and colors you use. Love the olive green of the church.

I usually use the same palette for all my paintings. Permanent rose, new gamboge, thalo blue, ultramarine blue, prussian blue. raw and burnt sienna. and sometimes viridian, cad red , cobalt violet and ivory black. the sky contains a lot of prussian blue. the church? i can't really tell you except there were multiple thin washes of mixes of the siennas and blues til i got something that satisfied me.

Great job Dale!
I really like the light coming from inside the church.

All the best,
