I did this one in acrylics awhile back and decided to try it in watercolors. Please let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Having sailed my own sail boat and sailed along near other sail boats the shape of that sail would indicate the motion of the boat was to the left in the painting but the wake  would then be to the right of the boat.  Is that a person or a jib sail not hoisted in the bow/stern?

Hi Lung Tom,
Thanks for your input. The front of the boat, the bow is just shaped that way. I think they call it a Dhow.
I thought it was a funny postion for the sail to until someone pointed out that the boat could be just starting
a tack to the right. I don't know, I just paints what I sees.

I'm about to go into a bright yellow and other warm color faze. This is helping to keep my mood. The island distance and the sailboat give a nice feeling of perspective. How big is it?

Thank you very much Kassie.
The painting is 11 X 14 on Strathmore cold press paper.

Just beautiful. Your shimmering water is great. Makes me want to go sailing.

Nice job Jim!  It's so hard to get those night scenes right and this captures the sun at its lowest point.  Love the colors and the composition.
