Hi

This painting happened over the week end. It is the next in the series of Sinhagad Fort, Pune, India. It is a centuries old strategic, historic fort in the extremely rugged Sahyadri mountian ranges.

Would like to have your views and comments on it please.

The colors are great - I love how your greens are always so fresh! The center of interest is too close to the center of the paper for my taste, and the spaces between the hills are kind of evenly spaced. I like the softness of the distant mountains to the right.

Very fresh and well done, it has a nice depth to it. As in the seashore painting I would say add a third bird.( I can't tell from the picture if there are more or not).
I do enjoy your work!

Thanks Joy and Tracy, for your appreciation and comments.

The greens are not always so fresh, sometimes I am a real expert in making a muddy mess out of it. But I try to use lemon yellow, sap green, viridian green and prussian blue to play around in greens and keep them fresh. The initial washes of lemon yellow and sap green helps in keeping the greens bright later on. In this painting, the variations in greens has come out pretty well; in some others the values are not achieved. But all in all, its fun to keep painting! The process is enjoyable, and the learning that happens on the way is great.

This painting has only two birds in it. Will try out the third bird as suggested.
