This is a watercolor 12 X 16  on 140 lb Arches paper that I'm working on of a yellow lab.  I don't think I'm going to put a background in.  But I do think I need to anchor him, maybe with a little shadowing, what do you think would be the best?

Thanks for looking,

Jan

Very nice, Jan! You do have a way with capturing the essence of the animal...looks just like our neighbor's lab, so gentle, yet can be a real pill when he wants to be!

Very nice painting, but I agree with Retha that he needs to be anchored down with some shadowing. I like your website..........especially liked Morgan.

Thanks Mike.

I really love painting dogs for some reason.  I think that is were my passion is and it comes out in my painting.  I know I have a lot of growing to do in my art, but it is finally coming along.

Thank you,

Jan

Thanks Gene,

I have to agree that the lab needs to be anchored.  Thank you for your compliments on my site, the commissioned piece that I did of Morgan was a hard on to let go after I finished it.  It is one of my favorites.
