Hi

Didi these two works some days back. Was not sure how they had turned out. Hence did not post them earlier. But then thought of inviting inputs on them.. Would appreciate if you could give your veiws and comments please.

The first one is titled "Peaceful Lake" and the second one is "River Meets The Sea"

Thanks.

Sandeep

I really like the skies in these and the composition. The only small change I would make would be to have more value/color variation in the greens of the treeleaves.

Thanks Joy.
Somehow the greens do not emerge as correctly in the digital image.
I feel some more details should have been there in the paintings...but somehow not been able to say what...perhaps a small boat on the lake may make some difference...

I like the idea of a small boat or maybe a bird in the scene. That way you could have a more defined focal point. I'm working on a pic with multiple hummingbirds and am very slow. Sometimes I don't get to paint for several days.

Both are nice paintings....my only suggestion would be to next time consider some cooler colors to contrast with the warmer ones. Nice composition on the second one.

Thanks Joy
Let me see if these focal points can be added to the paintings.

Thanks Atlee
Though I understand what you have suggested, I am not very clear as to how to get the contrast you have mentioned. Would very much appreciate if you could give some suggestions for me to ponder upon.

Thanks

Hi Sandeep like atlee said
I miss a little cold warm contrast too -
do you use the green from the pan only or do you mix it ?

I think Atlee means more cools in the greens, maybe some blues?

If you are watching trees on location -
you can see some leaves -

reflecting the sun like tiny mirrors and other
in the shadow are indigo nearly black --
and many differen steps between

Thanks for your inputs,

In fact, I use yellows (Lemon, Gamboge) greens (Sap, Viridian, Hookers) and Blue (Prussian) while putting the greens in paintings. But somehow the variations do not get captured in my cell camera the way they actually are Perhaps they need to be more pronounced...
