After this weekend, i'm slowly getting impatient with watercolors.  I know practice makes perfect, these are my second and third watercolors.

The first is a P-80 shooting star on 140lbs lana 10x14

The second is a bf-109 Messerschmitt 140lbs lana 4x6

any critiqueing is appreciated.  I already know where I can improve, and have spotted several mistakes already, but please dont hesitate to tell me what you think.

thanks

kylep

p.s. I need to hook my scanner up.

I don't know what you were looking at for reference but the pilots canopy on the F-80 is backwards. The tail pipe opening is too small in diameter.

Hi, I used the complete guide to fighters and bombers, yeah I know about the size proportions on the exhaust on the P-80, getting the proportions down and learning the shapes of planes features have been one of the more challenging things for me to get a grasp on.  Yes the P-80 canopy is backwards but in the actual photo I have its got that line there, I dont know if this is just the back area behind the pilots seat or a strange angle for me to see it, anyways its not  a great representation of the photo, only my second and third watercolors.

Thanks

Keep going Kylep...these are very nice early tries!  Get some water color books...there are usually nice ones in art book areas...you have a good eye so your skills should only progres...
