Good to have you back- I sometimes do not paint for weeks, so it is not such a long time as you would think between postings. Also, I am a very slow painter and one does not get as much feedback here as I would like. Anyhoo, I like your composition and especially think the variations of warm colors in the foreground is excellent. I think maybe the tree closest to the center could have a slightly more vertical trunk, even though it is on a hill. Also the tree on the right horizon could be different heights. Overall, good job, as usual!!

Thanks Joy
Now that you have mentioned it, it seems very obvious that the trees should have some variations in shapes and direction. Next time...!

Comment about trees growing on a hill:

Seeds will sprout and grow straight up regardless of the slope of the hill.

UNLESS:  If the land is slowly creeping down the hill the base of the tree will tend to point down hill to some degee depending on age and rate of soil movement. The upper portion will tend to rotate with growth  trying to grow straight up. (as in the lower tree trunk on the slope.)  Over time this is very noticeable if there are many trees on a hill with constant creep.

Hi Sandeep, I really enjoy this work, to me it shows an ease with the brush while creating gentle movements with color and line. Good use of black to add impact. I will often not touch a brush for weeks also and feel lousy but life can sometimes place roadblock to having creative time. When that does occur I try at least to look over art via books, the web and even children's exhibits at local schools, keeps me connected and makes it so when I do get back to my easel I'm ready and fired up. Keep painting. Suzette www.suzetteeast.com

Hi Suzette
Thanks for your appreciation. It was actually fun doing this (during a spurt of inspiratiopn) using only brushes without detailing too much. The black you have mentioned is actually a mix of Prussian Blue and Burnt Sienna. I tend to do rough sketches on any piece of paper when the mind block presents itself. Helps me a lot.
