This is not a new painting , but it is a favourite of mine and I have never tried to sell it.I think I enjoyed painting it so much that I wanted to keep it ...granted, it is no masterpiece, but a reminder of an enjoyable painting experience. Materials:W&N gouache on Arches 300g rough Size:approx. 12" x 13" Sandy

Sandy, this is beautiful. Love the colors - especially the blush- and the reflections are great. Your brushwork is very interesting on the pears. I can see why you wouldn't want to part with this one.

Hi Barb, Thank you! I really appreciate your comments. Gouache is one of my favourite mediums ...although I have't been using it much lately...must get into it again. Sandy

I wouldn't want to part with this one, either. You chose some beautiful colors and used the perfect brush strokes. This would inspire me on a daily basis if I had it hanging near my work area...I'm glad you have it to remind yourself of the beautiful gift and talent that you behold.

Beautiful painting.  A little over 30 years ago I always painted on 300 lb rough Arches paper with WN watercolors.  What I liked about the paper was the little white sparkle effect due to the deep unpainted depresions in the paper.  I don't see those sparkles in your painting.  It looks more like cold press paper.  I did the attached painting in 1977. Note the sparkles in the rocks and mountains.

Lung Tom,
You missed the point that it is gouache not watercolor. Gouache is a heavier paint and would fill in what you call sparkles.
