Mountains in the distance is usually more faded.

very nice. I have found with water a bit of white will add 'sparkle' to it. A hint I once received and found worked very well is to rub a plain white candle over the area that you want the highlights and as you paint over it the paper stays white. Works esp. well on a paper with a bit of 'tooth'.

I will try to use your suggestions next time I paint. The candle part is interesting. Must try it.
