I'm trying my hand at watercolor pencils for the first time. I like how easy they are to use but I'm disappointed about the lack of color intensity. Could it be I simply purchased low quality pencils? I got them at Walmart since availability is scarce in my area.

You can get different quality, I find Derwent good makes better colour.
