Here's my most recent watercolor. My reference photo was taking as I was browsing the stores floral departments a year ago.
I was thinking of entering this one in a costest. What does everyone think? |

| Thanks you Heather and Vikingwife!!! I did go back on this one and add the pollen that always falls onto the petals, which my husband said it was lacking. I'll add it on here later on. |

This is a beautiful painting.
There is one thing that I think detracts from the overall beauty of the painting. It's the white showing at the bottom right corner and across the top of the painting.
Of course, that's just my two cents worth. |

| Ron, the white is actually all around the painting, the mat I used to photograph this with just isn't quite the right size. |

| This is beautiful. Was this done in vignette style, then? If you are going to enter it into a competition, I think you should use a white mat, and if I were you, I would cover up that white area, and just used the colored part. But, that's just my opinion. I always like white or very slightly off-white matting, because I feel then there isn't any competition with or distraction from the colors in the painting. I love your competition, and really like the dark colors in the background. Thanks for sharing it. Gene |

| Thanks Gene. I think your right about the white mat. This mat is just an old one I use to see how it will look matted. I'll have to repost this using a white mat. |
