| Welcome Ron. This looks beautiful. It's a bit small here, can't see the details. Looks very nice. --- Suna. |

Hi Suna, Thank you! Some very nice work here by all. I was under the impression that we could only post images of 100KB maximum...? THe work is all broken color "pointilist" style. I'd like to post larger if permitted. Best Regards, Ron |

Very nice work Ron. You have great patience to do pointilist work with pastels! What size is this? I'm sure it looks great IRL. |

All the best, Jim

Hi Jim: Thank you for the kind words. It takes about as week to get all the basic color down then a couple more days to adjust and unify everything. The piece is 19 x 22" on sanded board. This is one of my favorite fishing spots on the Kern River here in California. Best Regards, Ron |

Hi Rae: Thank you so much for the encouragement. It is so much fun seeing the whole form from thousands of strokes but I think the broken color also livens up the picture plane for the viewer. Glad you like it. Best Regards, Ron |

| Hi Ron, I just got on today and I love Pastel and I am asking questions because I want to learn more than what I know. Is that masonite board painted and sanded ? Wiill you spray it with something? or will it go behind glass? and also out there in Calf what kind of money will it bring? It is a pretty painting and makes me want to go there to fish, so when you go back there to fish think of me in Ky. that will never get to see such a pretty place, now I know that is silly, but one day I was planting a tree in my yard, and for some reason I said Lord, I am planting this tree for the people in Wis. and so my yard is full of ''' thinking of people I will never meet''' in other states. love your work Ron. Bo: Thank you for your kind words. The board is commercially available sanded board from the art store. The brand escapes me just now. I spray my pastels lightly with workable spray fix at the end just to stabilize the pastel some. It does go behind glass finally when framed. I don't know what kind of money it would bring because I have never sold my work. I have shown at the California Art Club and College Gallery Shows but have not pursued selling venues (probably just out of laziness). As to the fishing spot I am sure you have some beautiful spots in Kentucky! Best Regards, Ron |
