Somehow I don't like this painting, don't know what's wrong. It dosen't represent the feelings I had when I saw this scene.  May be I should not paint from photo that much. If this is your painting, what will you do?

pastel, 19" x 13"

I find the painting technically quite good, namely the lighting and its movement.
But I guess that I know what you mean. See if you agree with me.
This painting is about family : the mother and her children ( I guess it's a baby's car ?).
However you've portrayed them too small in relation with the rest of the scene ( of course that the ratio is correct), but what I mean is that the "camera" should had zoomed more onto the characters.
This way it gives a certain sensation of lost in the scenery.

Also the fact that there's a sensation of long way to walk due to the perspective, probably doesn't help much

Sorry for this down to earth critique, but I try to help as best as I can.

Otherwise I think it's a good painting.
What do you think ?

I've taken the liberty of cropping the image to see if it looks better.

Hi Sandi,
It's lovely to see a pastel by you (again compliments of blue and orange, love it). Here's what I think may help you to love your painting....

Eliminate the structure above the doorway closest to the foreground and increase the height of the doorway. Right now, the mom looks to big in comparison to the proximity of the building to her closest left. I tried putting my thumb over that area and it changed the whole painting. I hope this helps.;

Thank you all. I was very surprised that I can get such helpful tips from you. Both ideas are very right, especially Linda's. When I cover the tructure, it changes the whole thing. Thank you so much !!
