Hi Everyone,

Boy it's been a long time since I have posted here in pastel.  I have been mainly working on watercolor, gouache and my alcohol based paintings.  So, here is my latest pastel.  Spring daffodils have inspired me.

Deb, another pretty one from you; also it is very happy. It must have been fun to work on.
Yes, what is an alcolhol based painting?

Deb, it's been a while since you've posted period! Glad to see you back in the forums!! There is a stretchof highway around here that is a sea of daffodills in the spring. each spring I tell myself I am going to paint them but haven't yet.

This is such a bright and happy painting, just like the flower! I think I would like the background better if it were paler. Is it on colored paper?

Kim and Raesmith, alcohol painting is done with and ink type product called Pinata'. It is mixed with rubbing alcohol or denatured alcohol. Also thanks for your great comments. Good to be back!

Thanks Tami! Painting these daffodils was one of my most challenging pastel pieces yet. The yellows are very hard to get and make them stand out. Go for it!!! I am in the process of doing another one, I will post when I am done.

I really like this...so bright and cheerful, just the way daffodils are supposed to be....
