Hi everyone

Its been so long since I painted. I'm currently in the middle of moving to a new State 1500 miles away and to a new job.. Hopefully I will have more time to paint in my new life..

This is CJ, painted in Nupastels on Miteintes paper.. 25 x 19 and about 10 hours work..

The painting is a gift to my best friend back in New Zealand..

Hi, Bruce,
Great expressions ! Great work. I paint portrait too. One thing I see is all warm colors. I think warm and cool colors make more interesting, isn't it? I never take school, may be wrong.

Bruce, this is fantastic! We should be able to hear the response all the way here in the states. It's perfect. CJ is adorable!!!

Hi Al thanks for stoppiing by.. I spent a lot of time in Devon while I was on exchange with the Royal Navy and made regular trips into Cornwall. I loved the seaside villages Penzance, Falmouth and the pubs in the country. Wished I was painting back then as there were so many things I would love to paint. Took me a while to understand the Cornish accent though :-)

Hi Sandi thanks for stopping by  and your comments. there is actually quite a lot of blue/ purple in the painting but doesn't show up so well in the pic. The ref image was shot outdoors and is realtively cool light. I really admire your work .. B

Hi Kim thanks for stopping by and your nice comments.. I am delivering the painting personally this weekend, I think they will be pleased. I jus learnt that there is another nipper on the way so I guess I will be busy again in a year or so..

Cheers Bruce

Hi Bruce!
Good to see you back here! Beautiful work on this one. I noticed on wet canvas that
you used a new method of starting your paintings. You start with the eye and build from there?
Is this your technique or something you picked up? Either way the results show it works!

All the best,
Jim
