Horses are one of my favorite subjects also. Is this the full image or did you crop it? One thing you might want to keep in mind when painting horses (or other animals) is keep the nose from getting too close to the edge of the paper. Nice sheen to the coat. Try experimenting with warm purples and magenta in the shadows. Those colors work wonderfully with red bays, sorrels and chestnuts. When can we see your next piece?
