I LOVE this loose and sketchy look. It's neat how you have a more perfected look in the face and rougher sketchmarks in the hair and neck. You have a nice balance of colors, too on the gold paper. I hope we see more of your drawings. (Plus, what do you do as a seaman?)

Great likeness! ...cocky attitude and all. Love how you handled the eyes!

hallo Kim and Tami,

Many thanks for the supportive comments - I am truly flattered! For me it is such fun with heads and likenesses. As you say, they are only sketchy. I will post another today hopefully.

Just found this Artist's forum, and thrilled to be able to look at other work, and exchange ideas and comments.

Kim, the seaman's days are over ( I was an officer on worldwide services and ferries)

Love your Picasso quote!!

Alan,
Nice work here. I think in my opinion that the face looks a little to wide and not long enough.
This just comes with practice. Nice lip curl though. I think that you will find that if you cut your
use of white to minimum and just use very light shades of color that your work will pop more.

All the best,
Jim
