I like very much the way you defined what is in light and what is in shadow. I like the warm rocks against the cool water, and the simplicity of the scene - you didn't try to paint everything in the world, just this little corner of the universe. I think you need to find a center of interest. And make the crevices of the rocks darker - sometimes those crevices are almost black, in life. Maybe a little more variation in shape. But you're doing well, massing the major shapes and keeping the shadow area clearly defined versus the light area - these are the major issues many people overlook in their haste to get to the dramatic postcard scenes.

Thank you very much for your thoughtful critique.  I've been having a hard time getting feedback that is helpful, rather than just critical.  (At another site, not this one)  Thanks again for looking and commenting.
