Thank you, JM, Bruce and Maggie! I had thought this post died a long time ago....
Bruce, I love what you've done with this. I prefer the sky lighter, but the rest is fantastic!!! Thanks for showing me what it could be.... Mike |

Mike, what can I say?? You work is utterly amazing, I paint in pastels, but have not done a full scene yet. I have just posted my Siberian Tiger in the contest yesterday. But ther will be no competition for you. The detail, light, color and reality is so awesome. I wish I could only be as good as this one day. I really need to get some thoughts together. Can I ask where you get your source images, or do you just kinda put a bunch of pictures together?
Once again, I am in awe of your wonderful work. |

Thank you, lorideb! I went and looked at your Tiger and it is beautiful! I have to say that after viewing all of the fantastic work posted in the contest, the competition is fierce for everyone! Lots and lots of very talented artists here.
Most if not all of my images are from photos taken by me. I rarely work from any other photos because of copyright laws. Commission work is the exception to that rule. I use what ever the client supplies me and it's up to them as far as any infringment goes.
This piece is comprised of a bunch of old cars that my friend has on his property. I had shot a bunch of photos while visitng with him one day and he gave me permission to use them for my work The fox kits are from photos that I had taken where I used to work. The fox would den there every year, so I would go in the evenings, set up my cameras and take pictures in between all the laughing at their antics. It was a blast to watch them play! I got some really great shots of a black kit that I still have yet to use....someday. The background in this piece is just 'made up'.
Thanks again! Mike |

| This is a lovely, lovely painting. Just beautiful. I have to say one thing; the blue background feels like a wall, for me; it looks empty. I understand it's the sky and the blue is beautiful there, but, there's a feeling of- it needs some depth- maybe... Suna. |
