Hello all.   I said in a post to Mike that I was going to try a plein-air of an old PU that is in the yard, just sitting by the old chicken house.  I drew it plein-air onto plain paper about 4 times before I was ready to tackle doing that on the pastel card I chose to use.  Its basically a orange-blue combo painting.  It took me 3 days in the the pastel, going out there at the same time each day.  I did My first pastel ever this way, of an old building.   Its fun and I want to do more---but all those pastels!!!! how do you take them all?   I was thinking of getting a "Roz bag"  does anyone use one?  Are they good?    Thanks for the info ahead of time!

Nice work

I carry my pastels in a plastic case with compartments in rice, it keeps them clean and keep at least the same colours together.

I think this is a nice painting and I admire your dedication to doing it plien air. I have been wanting to try that someday but working full time and gardening seems to limit my painting time to indoors... But one of these days.. !!!! thanks for inspiring me.. Christine

This truck is wonderful. I'm intimidated by the thought of painting outside. I've signed up for a plein air workshop in Sept. My husband just bought me a julian easel and a pastel box and some more pastels for my birthday. I've always painted in my studio, so signing up for the workshop is a way to force me outdoors. I'm still trying to figure out my set-up also. the degas pastel box we bought might end up being too heavy, i don't know. I'm going to try taking my stuff with me on vacation in a week. I can't wait to see more of your plein air stuff.

Looks good, Ida! Like the way you show light in this....you may want to look a little closer at the body lines/ angles of the truck, but I like this!
