Hi all! This is my latest kitty picture. My aim is to just keep drawing and watching all of you so that I can keep improving. I am gleaning all the info I can from this web site and the pastel journal. Thanks for your input. I appreciate your comments.

You have done a very nice drawing of the kitty, and its really nice. I like the background, and only think a few less hard edges there would be good. It shows your drawing and painting skills well.! |

| Thanks ida! I appreciate your comment especially on the background. I know that is a weak point for me. Especially leafy/rock things that are out of focus LOL! |

I really like your work, Kathy! This piece is soooo cool...I love how the little girl/guy is perched up there. He looks kinda not sure, but safe for the moment. Love the colors and the way you handled the background. GREAT work!!!!! Mike |

| What a nice painting. I think I agree with Ida about toning down the background just a touch to make the kitten stand out a bit more. I'd love to see this one in real life or bigger to really appreciate your work on the kitten's fur, etc. Thanks for posting this. |

My thanks for your comments Alicia, Mike and Gene I really wanted to name this picture "Now that I got up here, what do I do?", but that was a little long LOL!! I am contemplating toning down the background a little. It really looks brighter in the photo, but value doesn't lie, so I think I will work on it. Thanks!!

Hi Kathy,
This is very good and I just looked at your website - I love all your paintings. I agree, that to make this one even better, toning down all but the kitty would make it even better. Things to consider: all but the focal point (or near it) should have less contrast in value and color; less details and softer or lost edges. Great job.

| You've captured the personality of the kitten well. They are always the funniest little guys to watch! Maybe you can just call it "Now what?" If you work on it some more, will you post it again? |

Hi Justine! I totally agree that kitties have fun personalities! That's probably why I have a cat (psycho kitty) and love to draw them And yes, I will show the updated version. Thanks for asking |
