| Okay... here goes.... I'm new to this forum and I stumbled on it quite by accident. However, I'm thrilled that I may have a chance to get some feedback on my work by fellow artists in the same medium that I love. I do work from reference photos that I set up and take myself. This piece represents an area that I've been exploring. reflections and the relationships between objects. What do you think? |

Absolutely beautiful!!! I am a big fan of reflective work! This took some time and patience. Two things that are in short supply in my life. Please post more! Jim

love the subject, Ive also been facinated by marbles and took a series of photos on my rug but have never got round to doing them, its a challenging subject and you have executed it with technical excellency. I would like to make a comment if I could on the composition, I find the plate at the back too compressed against the top edge of the picture, I think it would of worked better with a more straightened angle. Saying that I think it is an excellent work anyway.

That sliver platter was SO hard to work with. It was as straight as I could get it in the still life.(There were books, etc behindit to get it to stand up) I suppose I could have switched it while drawing but the reality of the reflections were more important to me at the time.
Thanks for replying and the kind words. I'm working on the reflections in the chrome of a red '57 Chevy- just the passengers side front corner. I'll post it when I'm done. This is great to have the access to a critique. It can only make my art better!

Suzanne,
Your work is excellent and I tried to give it five stars but it just wouldn't work for some reason.

Thanks Michelle!
The fact that you tried means alot, especially on a day where I'm frustrated in my studio. (My piece is too big and I'm trying to figure out keep working without messing up what I've already done.... Thinking of turning it on its side.....) |

Thank you everyone....I don't feel as if I mastered the medium, Realist2. (But thank you for saying so) I have so much more to learn and much more to paint! The last portrait I did really kicked my butt! . I wish I had time to post it but I ran out of time and it was due. |

Thank you Dianna. The size is Aproximately 20X15 (ish). I recently sold it. so I cannot re-measure it. Almost the full size sheet of colorfix sanded Pastel paper. Does that help? |
