| This is a pastel portrait of my brother, Joe, who hates having his picture taken, and shys away from cameras. I took this picture while he was checking messages on his cell phone. Needless to say, he was petrified when I told him that I was going to draw it, and he asked if I didn't have anything better to do with my time. But I absolutely loved this very rare picture of my wonderful brother and felt that the colors, shadows and "mood" would make a great character study. I thought it turned out alright, what do you think? |

I think it came out great! Lots of wonderful detail. From this angle, your brother looks a lot like the actor who played Thaoden in the Lord of the Rings movies.

I think you have done a great job capturing the shy side of your brother. The mood in this piece seems very introspective to me. I really like this piece and I'm sure your brother loves it too.

Double-Wow! This is a really beautiful portrait! So much better than a photograph could ever be. I love the colors and the lighting, the ambiance.....everything! I wish I knew how you got the skin so perfect. The detail is amazing. You must have an enormous store of patience. This is much better, don't you think, than a posed portrait would have been? Love it! |

| I love the way you worked with the shadows on the shoulder and contrasted it with the 'glow' behind his face. Beautiful job!! |
