Recently someone showed me their "cheapie" set of oil pastels. Since I had experimented with soft pastels and liked the finished product but not the preservation of the work, oil pastels seemed to be a wonderful alternative. Here are the only two things I've done with oil pastels, but there will be more in the future. They were created with a inexpensive "Portfolio" set of 12 oil pastels. This has a limit selection of colors, but if you just want a "quick dip" for a tryout, this is the way to go. Wonderful media!
