Thank you MYK, that is what caught me too, something different. Others were captured by it too, the painting is sold. I actually was sad to let it go because I really liked looking at it. But I printed a photo at high resolution so I still have the image.

yannno heather? every great artist? suffers for their art in some way....reading the bios can prove that many were born from beds of physical challenges or pain....something that made them turn that inner eye inwards....and permitted them to see as an artist does...

yanno the first ever drawing of Frida Kahlo?...it was the drawing of her foot, as she laid in a cast the nearly encased her!....if thats any show of what creates an artist? then your well in that category!..

Thank you OWS for your encouragement. It is always a good thing to be reminded that I am not alone in my struggle.

Today I'm fondly reminded (more than usual - perhaps because Mother's Day just passed?) of the "moon walks" I used to take my kids on when they were little. We lived on the bluffs above a beautiful lake. When there were full moons, we would go walking without flashlights and let the moon reflect on the lake and light up the road. You've taken me back to some great memories. Thank you. You have done a very nice job with this painting.

Thank you Kim,
Not only has this painting sold, it also won the "Nature" theme painting for first week of May on e-bay. I was so pleased. I am happy that it triggered such a precious memory for you.

Thank you Jim, I appreciate it. Today I won an honorable mention for my pastel of "Head of Isis" in Lynnfield. Same pastel I won special award for last month in Winthrop. It is great to get the ribbons but sales would be nice too, This show is only open to public tomorrow 9am to 2pm so don't expect to sell anything at this one either.

Gene,
Thank you so much. Yes, I am so thrilled that sales are steady, I sell one or two per week now, for low prices. But today I did sell my Goddess Aphrodite for $25.00! Also a couple of my buyers said they are watching to see if I have more cats coming. Talk about pressure! I have started the portrait of my grandson, have the underpainting done. Right now my time is limited because shots didn't work all that well, but toughing it out, if I don't paint I will hurt anyway, so why not paint? Just not long hours, but slowly getting everything done. Another customer on e-bay is talking about a commission, details have to be worked out. I am happy, much easier for me than art shows. Also I was flattered today when I picked up my paintings, quite a few people said I should have received more ribbons (I had 4 paintings in show) I explained it depends on what appeals to the judges. It was nice to hear that.

Plus it turns out that this art assocation has a special exhibit in December for the holidays, all miniatures, not to be bigger than 5x7, is that perfect for me or what?

Congradulations Heather!!!!!!!!!!!!!I'm so pleased to hear how well you're doing with your work.  Although we'd all  paint no matter what, there are two things that confirm us as artists and inspire us to work harder, 1. recognition from fellow artists, and 2.the knowledge that someone is willing to pay out their hard earned cash for our work. I'm glad you're receiving both.Paint On Girl!!!! (Sorry to learn you are having health issues. Hope you are feeling better.)

Myrn, thank you so much! I appreciate the congrats. Not really health issues, nerve damage/inflammation from spinal stenosis in neck, not a problem except when pain keeps me from painting

Retha,
Thank you for congrats and good wishes. My sympathy and prayers to you also for your problems. It is a bummer when "stuff" interferes with our painting.
