You're right about the right side of the dome. I have not been happy with it. Thanks for the suggestions. I think I will work on it this weekend. This is what I love about this forum

Best,

I can't believe how long it's been since I last posted. I have not been idle. Below are a series of changes I made to the Santorini painting. I have made a further refinement. However, I still need to photograph it.

"One who sees". please give me your opinion on how things are progressing.

Best,

Hi James
I am a newbie and found this approach quite informative. I refer your posting 02/11 - the way the flash hit the canvas the water looked perfect for the lighting on the dome. Perhaps you can duplicate the light on the water in the painting. Of course if it was not flash reflection I apologize.

Painting is concerned with all the 10 attributes of sight; Darkness, Light, Solidity and Colour, Form and Position, Distance and Propinquity, Motion and Rest. -Leonardo Da Vinci

This is a good improvement that you've made. The highlights on the dome i believe are the strongest part of this painting, and your rendering of the rest building is equally impressive.

Life is a trip, enjoy the ride.
