Another palette knife painting. This is a jazz trio. It's from a photo I found on the net. Please let me know what you think. It's 24 X 16 on wood.

Thanks,

Jim

Jim,
I really like the style of this painting.
I'm assuming that the people in the photo were real people and this is your interpretation.
Your use of color is outstanding. It definitely creates a mood.
Good job!

Man... You're painting your arse off! I love a painting with passion and this announces it's dripping with feeling. This one's good Jim, very good.

The red and light of the bass contrasted by the sax player are brilliant.

I had posted a comment here yesterday - maybe I forgot to hit submit - oops! I really like this loose, jazzy, colorful style you have going here. Makes me want to have a glass of wine and tap my foot - tatata tata. These guys are really jamming!

Hi Heather,
Thanks for your kind words. This is fun stuff. I'm going to pick up a
couple of different shaped knives to use. I'm sure it'll help with some of
the tighter stuff. Not that there is much tightness to this style.
Thanks again, and what a great portrait of your grandson.

Wow! There's a little Leroy Neiman in this one, I think. Lovely, Jim.

Jim, you sure are crankin' out some great paintings! Thanks for giving us a show preview these past few weeks. Is this the last one or do you still have time before the show actually starts? How many are you going to bring?

Nice painting Jim! I love the rich red of that bass. And your use of yellow for the higlights is really beautiful

Hi Kim,
Thanks alot, I appreciate it. I'm going to try and get out as many as I can. I want to have about 50
paintings to show in all styles sizes and price range. That way I should sell something. I'll have business
cards to hand out to people who may be interested, but just don't have the money at the time.
Thanks again,
Jim

Hi Anna,
Thanks, I appreciate your comments. Hope everything is OK with you. You haven't been
away because of your health have you? I hope not.
The show isn't till the 16th of June. Just painting away to get as much variety as I can.

No Jim, far worse than that, I got a job LOL... I did however, just get juried into a statewide show for the first time, I am very excited! By the way the more you paint the better you get! The show you are working on has freed you up. Very exciting!!!
