I recently completed this painting of two marbles. I tried to highlight the light and transparency within the glass. Please let me know what you think.

Vic, You have achieved your objective admirably. This is fantastic, and your colors are clear and crisp. |

Another great piece Vic. Great detail. Even down to the air bubbles trapped in the marble. Jim |

| Wow. Beautiful work. I really like the reflection of the window on both. |

Vic: Nice work. I have had a deep interest lately to do glass items and make them look real. That's why your picture interested me. It is listed under Oils, but it looks more like watercolor to me. which is it?
If you're interested, I recently posted an acrylic picture entitled "Glass enclosed flowers" which is my attempt at reality in glass. Also, in acrylics, is the one I did on wine glasses and bottles, called, "preparing for a wine tasting" where I tried to get the real glass effect.
Hope to see more of your glass works.

| The reflection of the windows in the marbles are a gorgeous touch. The bubbles in the marbles and the reflections on the bottom anchor them and make them look very realistic. GREAT JOB!!! |

| I'm a big fan of realism so I greatly admire your marbles. You maintained their transparency and reflective quality. I can sence their smooth surface. And the addition of the air bubles in the glass are a nice touch. Good work! What are the dimentions of the work? -Laura |

glasss has always facinated me too....like water it reflects everything surrounding it...and if clear enough adds that incredible depth in a piece....
youve done a beautiful job.... i think though that the finer details....are not on the foreground marble but the one in the distance...it feels as though you have more varitation in tone following the curvature in that one....rather than the nearest....this one feels as though there isnt enough changes in values? and i agree about the edge of the marble in the dstance...you would see some type of distorted vision of it...
nice cast shadows....many times thats what attracts my eye to a painting/drawing... |

Great work! You really captured the translucency and the reflections... It's fun to keep looking at it!
I'm also curious about how you did the photo.... or is that part of the painting?? Sort of a trompe d'oil... There is a shadow to the right and going down from the sides... but I don't see an edge on the photo.. Intriguing!!
Thanks for sharing |
