After looking at this again, seeing a closer picture of you and that self portrait you posted as a prelude to your failed hiatus from this forum... I'm calling you out. That's you sitting at the table, isn't it? 8^)
Thanks Lung for giving me the opportunity to discus van Gogh again in this post. I think his was more of an experiment in color than to confine his brush to the stringency of reproducing commonly agree upon sight. There were a lot of rules back then that the Impressionist broke and paved the road for guys like van Gogh.
I like to equate it to music. You can hear a very simplistic song that only has a few chords, vocals out of key, whatever. And this song still makes you smile. It's in your head. Technically the tune is sub-par, but it's still a good song.
