Here is another painting from last winter's trip to Costa Rica.  I photographed this driftwood tree early in the morning.  At the time, my attention was drawn more to the movement of the water behind it.  Later, while studying the picture before starting my painting, it was only then that I saw the rocks imbedded in the roots, and even later that I realized the roots were well-imbedded in the sand.  The name "Embrace" kind of popped into mind, and stuck.  I suppose, it helps me see in an abstract way that when life hits you with rocks, you still keep growing, and even the tough times become part of who we are.  Humm...  Kind of philosophical.  Forgive me.

I now have it framed in weathered (gray) barnwood.  It hangs where the morning sun hits it at the same angle as depicted in the painting.  It works.  I have come to like it even better than when I first did it.  I hope you like it, too.

This is a beautiful, i love the soothing colors and how you painted the shapes. Both the wood and the water are rendered very well.

I can hear a pin drop as I feast my eyes. I would like to see the water have a littile more color. It looks too dreamy.

Thanks for your comments. Actually,.... it was dreamy. At 7 AM with low sun peeking over the mountain ridge and fog rolling out of the jungle, it was very dreamy.
