Hi Everyone,

Although I do look in every now and then I'm so busy that I haven't had much time to join in many of the discussions.  Right now I'm working on nine different paintings and trying to get ready for a workshop in Cloudcroft, NM. in August.  As some of you may know I'm an equine instructor at a treatment facility for teens and next week starts the summer season where I'll will be doing a 14 mile trail ride at least 3 days of the week.  Below are three of the unfinished paintings.  Comments are A-OK.

Leon

Trail rides? How lucky you are. One of the best ways to improve your work is painting a la fresca. Or en plein air. If you can figure out some time for yourself with teens in tow, you'll be amazed at your progress by small on-site oil sketches. Go for the light and dark shapes, and don't worry about the outcome.

reverse is more useful that floorboarding it

Very interesting portraits, Leon.  Makes me want to know their stories.  What are the sizes?
