Driving along the country roads in Cobourg, I came across two old retired horses. I couldn't resist the picture.  Thus, my latest attempt at painting trees, earth, grass and builings (barn still to be worked on) and animals! As I find them all very hard (landscapes), I would appreciate any comments.  Enjoy.

Maggie,
The horses and the barn are wonderful, but there is something that bothers me in this painting and it seems to be the road between the horses. I'm not sure of what it is, but I think that it should be a darker color. It seems to draw my eye away form the horses and everything else in the painting.. I wonder if it has this effect on others. The horses seem almost alive. Good job.

I love this one! Beautiful job. I think , I don't see a road anyplace. Looks like dried grass , but You have put a lot of yourself in this one, and I love that. Good job.

This is so cool, Maggie!
I just love the 'feeling' this piece has to it...the only thing I would do is darken the foreground a bit, but that's up to you.
Love it!

Hi - Thanks Everyone -> Linda, Mike, Snowartist & Eyecandy.  I have done a bit of changes as per your suggestions - the area between the horses, I had to change the tree shape (even though this was mother nature's natural way) as I thought the eye was being drawn to the unusual shape, added a couple of bales of hay in the background, lengthened one of the horses 'buttox' :>  and fixed the fencing.  I think it is now finished except for a bit of work on the grass in front - maybe a bit more flowers and definition in the grass itself.
