From a recent sketch.
Based on the reaction to the sketch, this fella is very, very unpopular!
I had to paint it tho. Some things just shout at me.. "Hey! Paint me!"

This is one of them

Popular or not, I can see why you had to paint him. When you get that inspiration and vision, you have to carry it out. This one shows. Excellent.

You've definitely captured his arogant attitude here, Bill!
Nicely done.

Thanks to all who commented.
I used some new techniques here and I liked the outcome myself

This is wonderful Bill...controversial subject aside...wonderful use of color.

absolutely beautiful bold strokes of color here. If I may be so bold, I would recommend a little more area around the top of his head and a little more off to the left side to emphasize the isolation of him... Otherwise, impressive!

Thanks to all for your encouraging words.
In my judgement, this is the best portrait I've done- it just painted itself.

The look of defiance is perfectly caught in his portrait, I can see why you wanted to paint him!

looks like OJ to me, but that is irrelivant. You captured the flesh tones beautifully. I would have put it on a vertical canvas instead of a landscape. Black people are a joy to paint. Their skin tones give you so much room for using color.
