This is a commission of the Tuscany hillsides.  I've pieced it together from several photos, etc.  Am I on target with the composition and depth?  The lower foreground will be red poppies.  I've been working on this for over a month and I've changed it several times to get this far.  I'm having fun with the bright colors, but I'm wondering how it looks overall at this stage.  I still have to add highlights to several places (wet paint at the moment). The little photo taped to the easel is my color reference photo)  I would appreciate any comments and critique.  (I apologize for the quality of the photo - I didn't have time to tweak it.)

Thank you!

Thank you, Ativa. Tonight I brought the lower bushes further down on the right a little so as to break the horizontal bands of fields, trees and poppies.

I'd leave it just as it is without the poppies. It's really nice.

Hi Kim,

This is beautiful! Hats off to you for piecing this together from several photos as that can't be easy. I think the composition is perfect and wouldn't change a thing. Perhaps the depth can be modified some to get some more 3-D. Ideas to that goal are to soften edges away from focal point and to add more cool colors in both the mid-ground and distance. For example, the dark green tree at the top right in the distance could probably be a cooler and lighter color to depict it's distance better (the lavender mountain in the distance does just that). I love your bright colors as this livens the painting. Perhaps some more dark values in the shadowed and darker areas would enhance this even more. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work.

I like it just the way it is now too. I wouldn't change a thing. Very nice work.

This is very nice work Kim.
I don't think it needs any changing, but
tweaking is always on an artists mind.

Very nice! I love the colors. I would like to see it in regular daylight, without the ambient light. Is that skewing the colors? I bet the colors are even more vibrant than what we are seeing in this image. Am I right?

Wishing you peace and prosperity,
Naomi
