Hello folks,

This is one of my kids favorites. It's framed and gone but I welcome comments and opinions on how I could have made this a must have for collectors. It could be the size, maybe bigger...smaller?

I will probably try this again in different color scheme. Where would you like to see this go in color?

Robert

This is really neat...how big is it?
My thought on color would be to not have the picture seem to be
quite so cut in half colorwise..but to bring more of the forground colors into the backround etc..even if in
lighter values...in order to keep the picture all...one. But that is only true if you want more realism and
are not trying to be surreal. Your sense of distance it really good!

Another great one, Robert!
I like it just the way it is...I see why it's gone!!

Thank you River and Mike,

To answer River, it is 18x24 and I'm encouraged by your thoughts about the color because I've often thought the same exact thing. That means I'm learning! When painting this scene, I was thrilled to produce what I did because it was the third picture I ever painted (2 yrs ago). Now when I look at it, I think to myself..."I should do that scene again".

I'm aware that Mike here is a professional artist, are you? Are you in a Gallery or elsewhere? What a treat it would be to support my family by selling my art.   Thanks again for your replies.

Rob

Nice work
I agree with the colour not to cut the painting in half as colours should be balanced troughout the painting it could be that colours dominating in the one half and the others in the other half.

Like the colours you used.

Hi Theriot - What a nice painting.  This would be awesome done on a large scale - say 30x 36?  The first immediate thought would be a great illustration for a non-fiction novel.  I like the colors.

Thank you. I just happened have bought some bigger cavases so I will be painting bigger in the near future. When I go to galleries or museums, the big paintings are so impressive. I want to be impressive too! Maybe I'll impress myself! ha ha!
