| Carver, I think your painting method is superb as usual, but I think your composition is weak. This is only my opinion, but I feel that the chair, the young woman and the flower arrangement occupy about the same amount of space, are about the same height (sending the eye from left to right at the same height) and her standing in the center is not the best placement of her. Other than that, this is beautiful. I love the painting (mural?) on the wall in the background. |

| Thanks Kim, I do feel that the flowers are too strong though. I am working to tone them down some... to bring them down in lighting... I do feel that they are competing with her... I am working on another one of her for my samples and I do see your issue with them... thanks again... |

I don't see any problems at all Carver...gorgeous if you ask me! I would not change a thing...this is not only a treasure for her family...but is elevated to the level of real timeless art. River/michele |

...also...(when you have a slow day!)...tell us a little about your process??? Like what kinds of things do you like to mix your paints with...and what colors do you do your backround with first etc.??? Do you wait until it's dry to start your picture?? and now that you make money for your art...do you only use very high quality paints??? brushes??canvases???
thanks in advance for the brain picking!

| For me the painting is a beautiful compostion, you have delicately brought the flowers out of shadow into the light which leads my eye in a curve up the left arm and into the centre of focus the face and shoulders. I love the contrasts and the texture and colours of the greens exquisite. The dress fabric gives an interesting sense of movement. One teeny comment is maybe the chair could have been angled slightly more diagonal from the left side instead of straight facing. But it doesnt take away from the overall effect of the painting. Fantastic |

Well, I think your composition is nice! The chair brings in the eye, then you immmediately go to the beautiful girls face, and then to the flowers, and back to the chair. I wouldn't change anything. It is really beautiful! Please do share some of your techniques with us. What brand of paint do you use? Your pallette, and your favorite brushes? Any thing about how you start, etc. Lona |

Hi Carver, This isn't an oil painting. It looks like a photograph to me. You can correct me if I'm wrong, but I really don't think that photographs belong on this forum. It looks like a product of "Painter". The photograph is very beautiful. |
