I saw a number of oil paintings by Ceceila Beaux (on another website).

For those of you who love portraiture...go and see the link on the American Artist Magazine forum (no disloyalty intended!)

Cecelia lived in the late 19th and early 20th century and was a very respected artist in Philadelphia in her time. The paintings shown on the article link seem to show her work in different stages of her career...one even seems unfinished (like mine. I am impressed with her work with white on white on some of the turn of the century dresses...not to mention her amazing ability to capture children as they really are...

There will be an exhibit of 85 of her paintings in Phila. this Spring. I live nearby so will probably go to see it. Check it out!!
