This is really beautiful! I love the soft style of the water and greenery. The trees are nicely done as well

I really like these pieces. You have good movement through the piece in the first one and I really like the contrast and play of lights in the second one. You have an interesting style.

Love the colors and design. Looks like they are ready to sign and sell ....if you can part with those beautiful paintings. I have trouble selling mine. They become my children.

Stupid me, not to see that they are the same painting. Must have been one of those days. Anyway, it is a beautiful piece, you have a good eye. I wish this format would allow more detailed photos so you could see details, because you have a lot in there. And if this is your first oil, amazing. What medium do you usually work in, for surley this is not your first piece. You've learned a lot from somewhere, I know that I spent a lot of years just drawing before I did my first oil and it was awful. Had to learn a lot about color and seeing what was really there not what I think I see. The mind plays funny tricks, like the tendancy to make distant mountians green, because our mind says trees are green, only to learn they are blue because of atmosphere. I've also done pastels and watercolor, but my heart is in oils. Keep it up, you have a good eye and a pleasing style. Look forward to seeing more.

...I love oils too James...been using them since  I was 10...so probably won't change. I love the smell. I heard that Speilberg still uses real film because he likes the smell...and I knew what he meant...it became a part of his creative process...a reminder of how good it felt to create...the last time.

Your style is very unique and I incourage you to keep going. You have a real talent. I think you could also be a concept artist for film...although one probably has to work quickly in that genre. Theres a feeling of being between reality and fantasy in your painting.

Very nice use of light and shadow to keep me in the canvas.

When I'm looking at images of canvasses, it helps me understand the the experience of the art a little bit better if I know what size it is.

Unfortunately, with these low res images, a lot of the brushwork and texture gets lost.

The GREAT ! part is that we can share this stuff is a timely manner.

Many thanks and am looking forward to seeing more of your work.

follow the link to my blog in my signature... you can see larger pictures there along with some of my beginning paintings... I used house paint for my first few paintings because it was cheap.. I did a watercolor... otherwise its been oils.

I did very complex paintings to start off.. so I had to master the medium and progress fast... kind of a sink or swim thing but medium never mattered that much to me.. after a few minutes you get used to the medium and just go.
