This is my first post here, so thought I would share something. The area depicted here is Jalama Beach, Calif. north of Santa Barbara.

It is oil, 12X16 on masonite.

Nice piece. I love the softness of this, it has a relaxed feel. I also like that it's loose, leaving the eye to add the details. Sometimes more details takes all the fun out of a piece and makes it stiff. Not here, I think you've capture the mood of the moment well. I also like the clouds, you've used color well in them. Look forward to seeing more.

I agree with Peggy. The softness is nice. One thing for future projects...check the direction of your light sorce. The human should have a shadow as dark and in the same direction as the gulls. Looking forward to more from you DW.
