Hello all,
It snow big time up here in Michigan today. I know this one is not one of my best but I had to get back in the saddle again and needed an excuse to put off shoveling.
For all of you who's back will hurt tomorrow because you're too proud to pay the kid down the street and too cheep to buy a snow-blower... Frost, in an Impressionist style, 16"x20. And always, thanks for looking. |

| I think you maybe wanted to capture the drama of a big snowstorm, but it seems to me the sky is too dark. If the tree and the ice on the shed are that bright, there must be more light source. I like the linear quality of the tree. |

| Jim, I like this one! We had a lot of snow over the weekend, too. I live in Grand Rapids, Mi. Where in Michigan are you from? I love the white tree against the dark sky. And I like what I think is the snow pushed back from the road by the plow in the lower right hand corner. That is what I am seeing, isn't it? Anyway, I wouldn't change a thing in this. Gene |

Thanks guys! Like I said, this one was more of a fun painting. It's not really a big storm, more of a frost freeze. Not the 8 inches we've gotten over the weekend.
I'm in the 'burbs just North of Detroit Gene... Near the Zoo.
Glad to have taken up the brush again, seemed like it was a month or so since the last time I got paint on everything. I promise to take the next one a little more serious. |

...this is really nice Jim! I love the bright white fresh snow on the tree. Snow is not an easy subject...people who get good at it learn to use a lot of subtle colors in it.
I don't have a memory for finishing something without seeing it...so I take pictures alot. You might consider taking a good photo of your subject when you work...so that you can add more light and shadows even if you have to go in...or the weather changes! |

I liike this! Very pleasing to look at. I LOVE snow...can't get enough for me! The colder the better .
And I'm both of the forementioned. But I have to tell you, some of my most peaceful memories were when I was standing in the falling snow at 3am, resting between shovel fulls. You can actually hear the snow falling...
I am so glad that I moved up here to the beautiful midwest!!!!!! Winter is an actual season up here . Mike |

Hi Jim, looks real cold. Here in Toronto, we got the same blast. Enough snow to match all last winter's snow fall. The biggest snow storm since '44. I holed up in my studio and did not step outside for two days. We were literally snowed in. |

| Thank you for looking Mike, Jim, River, and Richard. I haven't had a chance to drop back in and look around. It snowed a ton up here again. So, I'll be shoveling again. |
