Thanks for all the wonderful responses.  I too, really enjoy this painting.  It fits really well in our office/study space which has red walls.  As far as the colors go, that just happened to be what silk flowers I had on hand.  I had just stashed them in the vase for future use.  Later Mama passed the red stack tables down to me and I put it in my livingroom and thought that vase of flowers might look good on it. I also happened have the red fabric on hand too.  I  knew immediately that it could make a really good painting, and one thing led to another.  I took some photos for reference, as well as leaving it set up that way till I had it finished.  It's 24 x 30 and I framed it out in a gold frame.  Thought about selling it but not sure I want to part with it.
