Gracie was biting here lip in th reference photo that her dad pointed out, with as if he didn't care for that, so I changed it. I think I might have aged Gracie....but maybe not?

...beautiful.

If it's not too hard you might consider lowering the crown of the head on Gracie a tiny bit to bring her age back down...the line between the jaw and chin a bit back up? Faces lengthen with age. Then if you think you have their mouths as they would be when closed...your good!

Nice work.  Thanks for showing the progression, it's really helpful to see how others work through a painting. Hope to see more of this kind of help.

As always, nice work, Rosie!
The only thing I see is that maybe the shadows are too light on their faces?

The first thing that I noticed about the little girl was that she looked much older in the painting than in the photo. I think in the lower posting you have fixed that a bit. It almost seems that her mouth isn't quite wide enough, is it? And I think the same holds true with the little boy. Mouths are so difficult to do, and as far as I can tell, mouths and eyes are the things that matter the most in the portrait. I agree with Mike about darkening the shadows a bit. I like the way you handled the denim in the clothing. Looks great. Happy painting. Gene

Thanks for all the great critiquing, I need to hear that, I get a little empty inside when people just say that looks ok.

I zoomed in on Gracie...There was anything else done to her after I stopped her from biting her lip....Her dad didn't want anything else done, he was a very happy daddy.....Tho I feel if I would of softened them and layered with a coat of copal......I don't know.  They're out of my hands now.

Looks very good, Rosie! If Dad was happy, then that's really all that matters...
