This was done back when I was raising rabbits. This was one of my grand champion does and I wanted to paint her and her kits so I 'posed' them in the wheel barrow and snapped several photos. I had to piece the painting together because the little ones just weren't wanting to be where I wanted them to be! I donated this piece for a raffle to a foundation that I had belonged to and was very pleased to hear that it was well accepted. The piece was 24"x36"...Titled 'Un Piccolo Pranzo' meaning; 'A little lunch'.

This is fantastic Mike! Those rabbits are just too cute!! I love the way you have painted the sunshine on the rabbits' fur and on the hay. Good stuff!

really nice!

Thanks all...

River, You had rabbits also, cool.  Flemish Giants? Lots of fun , lots of learning and lots of 'other' stuff too, huh?

Gene, I cut my teeth on oils. I love them, but my patience isn't what it used to be so I prefer pastels over the oils.

Duende, get them oils fired up! I'd love to see some of your work in oils.

Kim, you're too kind. Thank you.(I went searching for some of your work...I LIKE it all! Very nice in every aspect...)

Yes Mike...we had two hutches for years when the kids were younger..with a series of pets in them. A man in our county bred them and we'd get a new one now and then...he had such bunch it was fun to go see them all! But only one was like the one in your painting...perhaps that was the breed...I've fogotten...
her fur was so soft and thick we thought she felt like a beaver...if you watch the movie Amazing Grace
that was out this year...you'll see one too...a great film that everyone should see.
Beautiful work on your painting...wonderful composition.

Mike, I seen this one on your site and was my immediate favorite. Love the lighting, composition and detail.
Fantastic!! 24x36....that makes the bunnies life size?
