This is an oil that istarted in an oil seminar in order to earn how to use oil paints. The class painted along with the instructor for the upper half of the painting and completed the painting in our own way for the lower half. I drew on Hau bushs which are a common plant at the edge of rivers on Kauai (That is the one with the rather rounded leaves on the left.) I have seen Blue Herons standing on rocks in Kauai rivers so went on the internet and downloaded an image to put in my painting. And I had the river slope off to the right. We all brought our finished paintings back to compare and it was amazing how very different they were from one another! |

Bev, this is lovely. I like how you added to the top of the painting with your own personal touch. That pinkish glow you put on the heron's chest just makes the painting. Congratulations on a work very well done.............Gene |

| Wow! You're an excellent artist. I agree with Gene - pinkish glow makes it. |

| Beautiful work on the lighting changes. Your perspective and water movement really lend to the depth of the painting. |

WOW! You did a great job with the trees and water! The lighting really adds to the serenity of the painting. I wish I could see a close up of the bird. We have herons around here.....and as J Ramesh pointed out....their legs are definitely longer. Nice work Bev!!

| This is a watercolor, but it is of a Great Blue Heron. The legs are longer in this version! |

| This water color is really fantastic. You have very good control over the media. The composition too is good. But here again I feel the beak could have been little longer. |

Great use of light and dark. Wonderful waterfall, full of static energy. The lone bird was a great idea. Jim
