This lady posed for our group and gave us 3 hours of her time.  Of course we paid her and this is what I did in the 3 hours.  It is different from my usual style, but it was done on site.  Would you do more to enhance this painting or would you leave it be?

It is oil on canvas and 16 x 20

Phil, I think if you take another look at her feet (perhaps from a distance) you will see that their sizes look completly distorted. From what I can see on my monitor, her left foot looks way too long, and the big toe looks way too big. If I were you, I would get rid of the nail polish, too. It just draws attention to her feet. Her right foot looks way too short. I realize some of that is in shadow, which I am probably not seeing clearly, but stand back, and take a look. See if you agree. Also, the first time I looked at this, I was drawn to the white of her eye. I think you need to grey that down a lot. I like the way you handled her dress, particularly the blouse section. Very nice............You did a lot of painting in those three hours. This one would have taken me about three weeks. But, then, I'm very slow..............Thanks for posting this............Gene

I agree with your comments on the feet and other proportions, but time was of the essence to complete the painting.  I chose not to go back into it in the studio, but to leave it as I did it.  There are other distortions in the painting.  In looking back, I do believe that the head is too long as well as the feet being too large and the hands are too small.  Oh, well, it was only an exercise, but I felt that the painting had a certian charm as it was.  I do thank you for looking and for your very good critique.

I don't think you should change anything,, but her feet actually look fine to me. I think her hand looks a little small. It is a nice painting.
