Hello, I just finished this one.  It is a plein air painting of the Laguna Mountains near San Diego.  Tell me what you think.  Should I work on it some more?  Oh yes, it is oil on board and it is 10" x 16"

Hi Judith....

I love the color scheme in this! The only other work I would possibly do is maybe a little more definition in the foreground yellow. I like the light on the tops of the trees in the middle/right. Very nice effect.

I agree with Jess. It looks (on my monitor) like you have lots of dark values,which is fine. But I think it would lend a lot to the painting if you gave the grass and the tops of the rocks some nice light values. Just a thought...............Gene

Hi Judith,
I always like your work and I’m looking forward to another chance at one of your paintings for free. Plein air painting is a challenge as I take so long and the light changes so quickly, but I like doing it and apparently so do you. I like your composition in this painting. You draw my eye into the center.

It is very dark. Really hard to see. But maybe it is from the photo,, they rarely do a painting justice.
