Original oil 16  x 20 on canvas. Taken from view of this mountain as it appears from the north side/Highway 97 and the areas of Yreka and Weed in Northern California. Rising over 14,000 ft, it predominates the scenery and is part of the volcanic mountains found in the Cascade and Sierra ranges.  I happen to love this mountain and have painted it from many different angles and in different settings. This one is more of an interpretation with the vision of winter or late spring snows in perhaps an early evening sunset glow or even moonlight.

I love the trees on the lower right corner. Was this a night photo? The sky is dark compared to the snow. Unless the moon is out. Very nice painting. I would love to see a snow man,, and use this for a Christmas card.
